Patrick McCaw has come exactly as advertised. The Toronto Raptors knew precisely what they were getting when they signed McCaw to veterans minimum earlier this season. He’s an excellent perimeter defender with the ability to lock-in on opposing backcourts like white on rice. He’s also a complete offensive liability.
Toronto must determine if the positives of McCaw’s defensive impact outweigh the negative consequences of his limited offensive game. With 16 games and 185 minutes played, we have just enough information to determine that.
