Many are the Canadian basketball players who stand at role models for youngsters hoping to be the next Jamal Murray, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander or Chris Boucher — or before them Steve Nash, Joel Anthony, Andrew Wiggins and Cory Joseph.
Many fewer, though, reach the pinnacle of the game in NBA front offices. Now there is a tangible example that shows kids who may not have the on-court excellence to make it to the top that they can in other ways.
The Eversley Multi-Use Court, dedicated Saturday at Bruce Beer Park in Brampton, will hopefully get kids asking questions, plotting careers and chasing dreams that may land them in top decision-making roles in the sport.
