There’s a bit of an edge to Nick Nurse these days.
He saw what the Raptors could do in a magical 10-week run to an NBA championship earlier this year — the effort they put out, the intensity they showed, the drive and intelligence they possessed — and having seen it, he’s demanding more of it. These may be the infant stages of a long regular season but Nurse doesn’t want to see the Raptors slip back.
“I think we got our defence to a point — and that didn’t come until those two-and-a-half (playoff) months — and we’re kind of building from there, or trying to get to there as quickly as we can,” the head coach said.
