Dec. 5, 1990: Blue Jays trade Fred McGriff and Tony Fernandez to San Diego for Roberto Alomar and Joe Carter at the winter baseball meetings. Toronto GM Pat Gillick sheds Stand Pat nickname pulling off a deal in which all four players were all-stars. Toronto went on to win two World Series, with Carter hitting the iconic walk off home run vs. Phillies to win the 1993 Fall Classic and Alomar going on to have a Hall of Fame career.
