With two new teams set to enter the league, on June 24, 1995 the NBA conducted its 10th expansion draft. For those unfamiliar with the process of an expansion draft, each NBA team is allotted a certain number of “protected players”. If not protected, the remaining players become available to the expansion franchise(s).
In 1995 all 27 teams were allowed to protect up to eight players, and each team could only lose one player in the draft. So, depending on who picked first, the Grizzlies and Raptors could each select up to 14 and 13 players.
