Morris Peterson hit one of the most memorable shots in Raptors franchise history 15 years ago Wednesday, with Toronto heading to its first NBA playoff berth in five seasons.
What started as ordinary road game on March 30, 2007 against the Washington Wizards, turned into an unforgettable night when the former Raptors guard hit a buzzer-beating circus shot to send the game to overtime. It’s a moment long-time Raptors fans still talk about, back before the days the franchise became a consistent winner.
This is an oral history of that memorable play, and the state of the franchise at that moment in time:
Chuck Swirsky (play-by-play voice of the Raptors): I remember we were having a really good season.
