The Toronto Raptors gave the Cleveland Cavaliers a scare, but they're looking at ways to improve the roster this offseason. The Raptors' top priority is bringing back DeMar DeRozan, but will try to add another player or two. Here are all the latest Raptors rumors and news you need to know.
Trading For Noel?
The Raptors have at least approached the 76ers about a trade for Nerlens Noel, reports ESPN Zach Lowe.
Toronto has already approached Philly about a deal sending out a rotation player -- perhaps Terrence Ross, and other goodies -- in exchange for Nerlens Noel, who could then assume Biyombo's backup center role, according to league sources. The talks haven't gained much traction yet.
If a deal is reached with the 76ers, it likely will occur only after Bismack Biyombo leaves (if he does). If needed, Noel could play some power forward, an area the Raptors need help. Lowe also reports the Raptors will get calls about DeMarre Carroll.
Meeting With DeRozan
The Raptors are going to make sure they keep the pending free agent this offseason, and they'll get the first meeting with DeRozan.
Toronto granted first meeting with DeMar DeRozan in LA on July 1, sources tell @clevelanddotcom. Miami, Dallas, Philly, Lakers could follow.

Remember, "could" get a meeting is very different than actually getting one. If the Raptors offer DeRozan a max deal, or even close to it, he'll likely sign quickly. The only way DeRozan takes those meetings is if talks with Toronto go terribly. That's highly unlikely to happen.
