Wild hold on to edge Leafs

The game should have been over 6 minutes in. The Leafs take an early two-goal lead six minutes into the game, thanks to a pair from Mitch Marner, but let the Wild come back for a 4-3 victory Thursday afternoon in Toronto.

Marner’s first goal tied a decades-long franchise record with a goal just seven seconds into the game. Charlie Conacher shares the record with a similar goal back in 1932. William Nylander had the third marker for the Leafs – his first goal of the season.

Due to injury to both Garrett Sparks and Freddie Andersen, Marlies netminder Michael Hutchinson was the starter and played a pretty good game for Toronto, facing 34 shots on the afternoon.
