Nikita Korostelev scored two goals, an assist, and a shootout tally, while Kitchener’s Jeremy Bracco notched a goal and two assists in his first game of the 2016-17 OHL season.
Korostelev’s second goal of the night was a stunner and an early goal-of-the-year candidate. He nutmegged Rangers defenceman Doug Blaisdell at the blueline before a pull-through-the-legs move opened up a shooting angle to his left, at which point he wired a backhand top shelf back across the goaltender.
Bracco’s goal was pretty in its own right, picking up a loose puck behind the net and smoothly depositing a wraparound past Sting goaltender Justin Fazio.
