It has been a while since there was serious talk about a backup stealing starts from Frederik Andersen, but there is a growing chorus of fans asking the question with Andersen’s recent form and rustiness coming off of injury (vs. Dallas), in addition to Jack Campbell’s excellent start to his Leaf tenure. There is no getting around the fact that the Leafs are going to need Andersen to be at his best down the stretch, but a little bit of healthy competition could go a long way with a busy schedule coming up (five games in eight days).
