The win moved the Toronto Maple Leafs to second place in the overall NHL standings, tied with the Calgary Flames, who have only 34 sins to Toronto’s 36.
In 57 games so far this season, the Leafs are 36-18-3. They are 17-11-1 at home, and 19-7-2 on the road. While they have a slightly better road record, it’s clear the Leafs are a good team no matter where they play.
And yet, despite being in second place overall in the NHL, the Leafs are 15 points behind the Tampa Bay Lightning, who are running away with the NHL’s President’s Trophy.
