After signing highly coveted KHL forward Ilya Mikheyev on Monday, the Toronto Maple Leafs made another splash yesterday by signing American-Finnish defenceman Teemu Kivihalme.
According to Cap Friendly, the 1-year entry level contract comes with a cap hit of $925,000 for the 2019 – 2020 campaign.
The 23-year-old, 6’0”, 181 lbs blueliner spent this past season in Finland’s Liiga with Karpat. In 60 games during the regular season, Kivihalme scored nine times while adding 21 assists for 30 points. The ninth highest-scoring defenceman during the regular season added another nine points (four goals, five assists) in 16 post-season games, en route to a silver medal.
