As of right now, if we include the Zaitsev rumors, the Toronto Maple Leafs defensive group looks like this for 2016-2017 (in no particular order):
Morgan Rielly, Jake Gardiner, Martin Marincin, Frank Corrado, Matt Hunwick, and Nikita Zaitsev.
Ignoring the talent of Rielly and Gardiner and focusing in on the rest of the group, there’s room for improvement with defenders 3-6.
