The Toronto Maple Leafs have been really good during their first four games, truly. Despite the disappointing 2-1-1 record, it shouldn’t worry anyone, it could have easily been a 4-0-0 record.
The Montreal Canadiens were lucky they faced off a gassed team coming in the second act of a back-to-back series that dropped the ball in the third period. Otherwise, they merely a supporting cast in a further masterclass by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
They continued their strong play against St. Louis, but the new star goaltender of the league singlehandedly slowed down the Toronto train from winning the game.
