Another team like the Toronto Maple Leafs that haven’t faired well over that time frame has been the Edmonton Oilers.
I mean, three first overall selections in a row followed by Connor McDavid in 2015.
And let’s get that straight, four in six years.
Wow.
The Leafs, on the other hand, haven’t been as lucky in the lottery as the Oilers, but still have done quite well landing William Nylander, Mitchell Marner and lastly, Auston Matthews in consecutive years.
However, draft selections are not the focal point of today’s topic as I’d like to comment on an interesting thought that was discussed the other day.
