Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Filip Kral was named AHL Player of the Week on Sunday. He recorded two goals and four assists for six points in four games. The 22-year-old defenseman was drafted 149th overall in the fifth round of the 2018 NHL Draft by Toronto.
Kral has two goals and 12 assists for 14 points in 27 games this season. This will be his first full season in the AHL as he continues his development. He is in the second year of his three-year entry-level contract. Kral’s contract earns him $810,000 at the NHL level and $70,000 at the AHL level.
