With the trade deadline winding down, and it looking like the Toronto Maple Leafs were going to stand pat, word came down that they had acquired Nic Petan for Par Lindholm.
It might not been what we were hoping for (i.e an end to the Ron Hainsey era) but it’s a damn good trade, no matter how you slice it.
The Leafs get a 23 year old left-wing/center known as an elite passer who is a point-per-game AHL player and NHL ready.
Nic Petan
Petan was drafted 43rd overall, in the second round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft by the Winnipeg Jets.
