Which team would be better for them, Boston or Tampa Bay?
Should the playoffs start today, the Leafs would faceoff against the second-place Tampa Bay Lightning. After last night’s meeting between Boston and Tampa, both are tied for first in the East with 110 points each.
Boston, however, has one game in hand.
Should the Boston Bruins clinch the Eastern Conference, the long-expected first-round faceoff between the Leafs and Bruins won’t happen. And that might not be such a bad thing after all.
The Leafs are better off facing the Lightning instead.
Even though we have a better regular season record against Boston over Tampa, Boston has proven to be a better team than Tampa at this point in the season.
