Toronto Maple Leafs: Kessel Effect Goes Beyond Points

Last year it was a pretty cut and dry choice with the Buffalo Sabres. This year the Toronto Maple Leafs are in the same situation. No one expects them to be good. In fact, everyone expects them to be one of the worst, if not the worst, teams in the entire National Hockey League.

Sure, they’ve added some good pieces to flip, but that’s not going to help them overcome the loss of an elite talent like Phil Kessel. Nor will their additions make such a great impact as to shoot them up the standings – presumably.
