Is the Toronto Maple Leafs goaltending prospect about to get a chance to step up in the organization?
The 22 year old Sparks had solid numbers last season, which saw him split time between the Toronto Marlies of the AHL and the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL for the second straight season. Perhaps Sparks numbers last year caught the eye of the Toronto Maple Leafs front office.
In all honesty, Sparks’ and Gibson’s career AHL numbers aren’t that far off from each other – and Sparks dwarfs Gibson in ECHL numbers.
Maybe it’s numbers, or maybe Sparks has just put in more effort to become a better hockey player while the ever-lurking new regime has been watching.
