Earlier today the Toronto Maple Leafs named D.J. Smith, Jim Hiller and Andrew Brewer assistant coaches to Mike Babcock.
They also hired Matthew Herring as the teams strength and conditioning coach.
Brewer and Hiller were with Babcock last year in Detroit, while Smith comes from the Oshawa Generals and Herring from the NBA.
Babcock seemed pretty happy about the hires.
“I’m excited to have them join the organization,” said head coach Mike Babcock. “We have a lot of work ahead of us but are all thrilled to be part of the Maple Leafs.
