With the start of the NHL's July 1 free-agent period less than a month away, the Toronto Maple Leafs face a serious salary-cap crunch.
Assuming an $83-million salary cap for 2019-20, Cap Friendly indicates the Leafs have over $8.7 million in cap space. That's not enough to re-sign restricted free agents Mitch Marner, Kasperi Kapanen, and Andreas Johnsson.
