The Toronto Maple Leafs picked up a point in the third meeting in the regular season series against the Lightning. In the battle for the throne of the Eastern Conference, Toronto failed to close the gap with Tampa and expand their “lead” on Boston. They picked up one point in the meeting and honestly, that was more than they deserved.
Even though the Tampa Bay Lightning dressed up 11 forwards and could only play 10 after the first intermission when Nikita Kucherov did not return. Depleting them to basically 3 offensive lines, Toronto was outskated and outplayed by Tampa.
