A loss in their final game or an Edmonton win on Saturday will give them the last place position and a 20% chance, it also ensures they draft no lower than fourth overall in the 2016 NHL Draft.
Assuming they don’t drop three positions and select fourth it’s highly likely they take Matthews, Puljujarvi or Laine – but they still have the Pittsburgh Penguins first round pick as well.
So, what do the Toronto Maple Leafs do with that pick? If they do draft a forward with their own selection it would be nice to grab a defender with the Penguins pick.
