In what has been a pretty exciting offseason for the Toronto Maple Leafs thus far, highlighted by the acquisitions of Tyson Barrie and Alex Kerfoot, the Maple Leafs made seven more signings official today. Most of them we already knew about (Kenny Agostino, Nick Shore etc) but there was one that stuck out more so than the others to me, and that was the signing of Pontus Aberg.
Who is Pontus Aberg?
Aberg, originally a second-round pick of the Nashville Predators in 2012, has bounced around between three teams since turning pro. He’s played three seasons with stints in the NHL, but he appeared to break out last season with the Anaheim Ducks when he put up 11 goals and 19 points over 37 games.
