The Toronto Maple Leafs only have two goaltenders signed for the 2017-2018 season at the pro-level: Frederik Andersen and Kasimir Kaskisuo. Kaskisuo preformed above average in the AHL, but is still a long way from the NHL.
Antoine Bibeau and Garett Sparks are both RFAs and the team has to decide whether or not they want to bring either of them back. Bibeau is likely going to be retained by the team and become the full time starter in the AHL, but Sparks’ future with the team is unknown.
Assuming neither Bibeau or Sparks can get the backup job, the Leafs have their pick of the litter in free agency this year.
