We’re going to move out of the first round to look at a player that might interest the Toronto Maple Leafs at the 2017 NHL Draft.
Olle Eriksson Ek
I’m not a huge fan of drafting goaltenders at all in the draft, as you can usually find one later on in their development. This year, however, is a weak draft class overall and it’s less of a wasted draft pick to take a chance on a goaltender.
Eriksson Ek’s stat line (via EliteProspects.com) is a good one. He’s got a .924 save percentage in 30 games for Farjestad BK J20 in the Swedish junior league.
