The goal for today with the Toronto Maple Leafs draft was to add skill to the organization while gathering very good prospects. Earlier in the off-season the Leafs assistant GM, Kyle Dubas, said they would go after skill and not worry about size.
That couldn’t have been more true at the 2015 draft.
Throughout rounds two-seven, the Toronto Maple Leafs alternated drafting a defender and a winger with their eight selections on the day.
Only three of the nine players the Leafs drafted in total are over 5’11” and only one is over 200 pounds. They may not be the biggest bunch, but they are full of talent and the 2015 Draft was a very good one for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
