The AHL season started exactly three weeks ago today. The Marlies actually didn’t play that night. They opened the season the next day with a 5-2 win over the Utica Comets.
The team has changed dramatically from last year, particularly the tip goal scorers like William Nylander, who was promoted to the Maple Leafs, and Mark Arcobello, who left to play in the Swiss League and is presently tied as a top scorer in the league.
Those changes haven’t slowed the team incredible performance.
In their first eight regular season games the Marlies have won six, and lost two, one in a shootout.
