The new-look Toronto Maple Leafs made their debut on Wednesday night. After a flurry of moves, there were high hopes for some instant chemistry. Those dreams were shattered as it appears more time is needed for the group to gel.
Not only did the Maple Leafs lose to the tune of 2 – 5, but the referees helped save Toronto from getting completely demolished. The Leafs’ first goal appeared to have come while they were offside. Cody Ceci was so sure the whistle should have sounded that he even stopped playing.
The Oilers didn’t just score five goals, but they also had a goal called back.
