Leafs legend Dave Keon was the star of Saturday night’s game. And for most of the first period, coach Mike Babcock could have used the 75-year-old Hall of Famer in the lineup.
A sluggish start by Toronto led to a pair of quick goals by the visiting Montreal Canadiens en route to an eventual 3-2 shootout win before a sellout crowd at Air Canada Centre, many members of which were Habs fans.
While the resilient Leafs clawed back to tie the game and salvage a point in the standings, Babcock was clearly displeased about his team not being prepared to start the game.
