HALIFAX – Goaltender Ian Scott stopped 32 of 35 saves in a losing cause as the Prince Albert Raiders fell 4-1 to the Halifax Mooseheads in Friday’s opening game of the Memorial Cup.
“We had a rough start today, but all season we’ve been able to bounce back.” said Scott, the Leafs’ fourth-round draft choice in 2017.
Prince Albert got into penalty trouble in the second period, and Halifax – boosted by the sellout crowd of 9,926 at Scotiabank Centre – used a power play marker to boost their lead to 3-1 at the time. The Mooseheads sealed the game late in the third period with Scott on the bench for a sixth Raiders skater.
