William Nylander recorded a goal and an assist for the first multi-point game of his NHL career as the Maple Leafs rolled to a 4-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night.
Nylander scored at 14:55 of the second period to tie the game after Brian Gionta put the Sabres ahead in the opening frame.
The Leafs took the lead in the third period when Connor Carrick, in the slot, found the short side on goaltender Chad Johnson for the Toronto player’s second goal of the season.
The game was put out of reach when Martin Marincin and Milan Michalek scored 1:14 apart later in the final frame.
