Mitch Marner showed why he's a 2x MVP this season
The 98th Memorial Cup tournament opened up with the host team Red Deer Rebels playing against the most dominant team in junior hockey this season, quite possibly in all of hockey, the London Knights.
The game began with the usual pomp and circumstance that the opening game of the tournament asks for. The local military attachment played a role in the ceremonies, with an unveiling of the usual memorial sweaters worn by the home team, honour guard, and rendition of 'O Canada' that would bring a ear to the eye of those inclined.
