Mitch Marner had a goal and three assists to help lead the Leafs to a 5-3 preseason win over the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night at Bell Centre.
Marner broke a 2-2 deadlock at the 0:16 mark of the third period, pouncing on a turnover by defender Jeff Petry in the Habs’ zone and snapping the puck past Carey Price for a shorthanded goal.
Five different players scored for the Leafs: Marner, Nazem Kadri, Auston Matthews, Kasperi Kapanen and Patrick Marleau.
Frederik Andersen played the entire game in net, making 33 saves in the victory.
