Maple Leafs sign Connor Carrick to two-year deal

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today the hockey club has signed defenceman Connor Carrick to a two-year contract.

Carrick, 22, scored two goals and collected two assists in 16 games with the Maple Leafs last season after being acquired in a trade with the Washington Capitals on February 28, 2016. In 53 career NHL games, the Orland Park, Illinois native has registered 10 points (three goals, seven assists) and 38 penalty minutes.

Carrick has also recorded 75 points (19 goals, 56 assists) and 199 penalty minutes in 138 regular season AHL games. The two-time AHL All-Star led all AHL players with 18 points during the 2016 Calder Cup playoffs.
