Maple Leafs sign Andreas Borgman to an extension

Kyle Dubas is taking the age old advice that an extension a day keeps the roster filled. After signing Garret Sparks yesterday, today it’s Andreas Borgman.

Borgman is in his final year of a two-year ELC, and he would have been an RFA with arbitration rights at the expiry of the contract.

The new deal is a two-way contract for one-year at the league minimum NHL salary of $700,000. There is no information at this time on what the minors salary is or if the contract contains a minimum salary clause.

Since Borgman has played all of this season in the AHL, he is still waivers exempt.
