The Toronto Maple Leafs roster is getting a major overhaul over the last 24 hours as another trade has been made. After yesterday’s move that sent Matthais to Colorado, the Leafs shipped defenseman Roman Polak and center Nick Spaling to the San Jose Sharks for two second round picks and Raffi Torres.
Torres is a UFA at the end of the season and according to Sportsnet, will be loaned to the AHL San Jose team. The two second round picks are for the 2017 and 2018 drafts.
This trade basically boils down to getting two second rounders for Polak and Spaling as Torres will most likely never see the ice for the Maple Leafs or any of their affiliates.
