Leo Komarov will be playing for Finland at the 2016 World Championships and he’ll be joined at the tournament by Toronto Maple Leafs defender Morgan Rielly who will suit up for Team Canada.
Komarov playing was a safe assumption given his previous tournaments with Finland and his solid year for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Rielly, though, was more of a hope than a guarantee.
It’s great to see Rielly get another crack with Team Canada at the World’s as a reward for solid play under Mike Babcock and good strides developmentally. Rielly played for Canada at the 2014 World Championships, recording one goal and two assists in eight games.
