The Toronto Maple Leafs were lucky beneficiaries of a rare strong game from Frederik Anderson (so far this season, at least) the other night against the Wild, and were able to score a victory in a game they really didn’t deserve to win.
Without Auston Matthews they dressed Kadri, Marleau, Bozak and Moore as their four centres. Without a doubt, that’s the worst group of centres an NHL team has iced this year. Kadri is a legit star player, but Marleau is a winger, Bozak is playing terribly, and Moore is no Bozak.
If, as reported to be likely, the Leafs are to be without Auston Matthews for back-to-backs against the Bruins, then they need to ice a better group.
