Maple Leafs goaltender James Reimer is currently listed as day-to-day and Antoine Bibeau will be joining Garret Sparks as keepers of the cage for the time being.
The Maple Leafs now have both of their AHL goaltenders in the crease, but it’s certainly not by design.
The injured Reimer and the struggling Jonathan Bernier will be unavailable for Saturday nights contest against one of the best teams in the National Hockey League, the St. Louis Blues – which is a terrible situation for Sparks and Bibeau.
Sparks was shelled against Winnipeg and if the Toronto Maple Leafs can’t play better in front of him, and if he can’t keep his composure, he’ll likely suffer the same fate against Vladimir Tarasenko and the potent Blues offense.
