Frost has served as the public address announcer over the last 17 years at the Air Canada Centre for the Toronto Maple Leafs, so the move to not renew Frost’s contract came as bit of a surprise to say the least.
For the most part, his voice has been synonymous with Maple Leaf games the ACC. Every time I would see a Maple Leaf score a goal on television I would wait for the deep voice from above to say, “Toronto goal scored by …” and give me all the stat-lines throughout the game.
The details for not renewing Frost’s contract haven’t surfaced, so I will wait to pass judgement, however, I would not be shocked if it is linked with the firings that are going on with SportsNet.
