Leafs shock Lightning

The Leafs held Steven Stamkos off the scoreboard and Jonathan Bernier made 26 saves as Toronto defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-1 on Tuesday night.

Both Connor Carrick and Ben Smith recorded their first goals as Leafs players.

After an uneventful first period that saw each team register just five shots on goal, Carrick found the back of the net at the 13:34 mark of the second stanza. With pressure in the Lightning zone, Peter Holland did well to protect the puck before finding Carrick, pinching in from the point, on the opposite side of the rink.
