The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled forward Trevor Moore from the Toronto Marlies. The move comes just minutes after the Marlies lost 7-6 to the Cleveland Monsters, in a game where Moore netted a goal and an assist. Moore, 23, has scored 8 goals and 4 assists in just 10 games this year, and he’s also been one of his team’s best penalty killers.
Moore was a significant part of his team’s Calder Cup Championship last year, as he notched 17 points in 20 playoff games. He’s shooting 26.7% this year, and while this clearly is not sustainable, he generates a ton of takeaways that result in extra offensive zone minutes for his linemates.
