Leafs power their way to win over Avalanche

PA Parenteau got his measure of revenge.

The former Avalanche player scored twice on the power play to help lift the Leafs to a convincing 5-1 win over Colorado on Tuesday. Toronto was dominant on special teams, connecting four times with the man advantage, plus getting a shorthanded tally from Leo Komarov for the game’s opening goal.

“It’s always fun to score against your former team,” Parenteau said. “We played a great game tonight, and the power play was clicking.”

Parenteau was dealt from the Avalanche to the Montreal Canadiens on June 30, 2014 for an aging Danny Briere and a fifth-round draft pick.
