I think right now it is a bit of a game of chicken, a bit of a game of high-stakes poker. I am a big believer in the “deadlines spur action” saying, and we are getting close to that. I think I said it a few weeks ago: My personal belief is that the Leafs have kind of told Marner that if he wants to get the number I believe he is looking at it, they want him to sign for eight years.
