Leafs clinch last place

The Maple Leafs’ season came to an end with a 5-1 loss to New Jersey on Saturday night.

PA Parenteau scored his 20th goal of the season, while Garret Sparks took the loss in goal.

Adam Henrique scored twice for the Devils. The final tally of the game was netted by Patrik Elias, whose 18-year NHL career will likely end after this season.

Toronto is guaranteed to finish at the bottom of the NHL standings, and can select no lower than fourth at the NHL Draft Lottery, which will be held on April 30.
