Playing their second game in as many nights, the Leafs couldn’t overcome a lethargic start and ended up losing 4-1 to the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday evening. Toronto was playing with the complacency of a team with a playoff spot locked up. Conversely, Carolina continues to fight for its playoff lives, and used the game to leapfrog over Columbus and Montreal.
