Justin Holl signs one-year NHL entry-level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs

This is a move that should secure some much-needed help for a currently-thin Toronto Marlies blue line.

Originally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round of the 2010 draft, the Minnesota native only ever saw action for their farm team after Rockford signed him to an AHL contract. Holl spent the majority of his first professional season with the Indy Fuel (ECHL) before becoming a free agent last summer.

After Toronto signed the blueliner to an American Hockey League contract, he made the Marlies on a full-time basis as the sole player to graduate from the Marlies camp held in Newfoundland.
