In Game 2 of the Qualify Round series with Columbus on Tuesday afternoon, Jake Muzzin was injured after a crosscheck knocked him down, as he collided with another player:
Multiple reports indicate the NHL considers this an accident, and there was no call on Pierre-Lub Dubois’ original crosscheck, so there will be no supplementary discipline either.
According the Leafs PR, Muzzin was taken from the Scotiabank Arena to the hospital after being removed from the ice on a stretcher.
They released the following today:
After being transported to hospital following an on-ice collision last night, Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Jake Muzzin is back at the team’s hotel.
